Christopher M. Scheer is the Associate Professor of Musicology at Utah State University in Logan, UT, and a scholar of late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century British musical culture as well as the intersection of music and esotericism in the same period. Scheer’s work on the latter has been published by Boydell, Brepols, Marg, The Journal of Victorian Culture, and The Journal of Musicological Research. In his other scholarly world, he is currently working on a life and works monograph on Gustav Holst for Oxford University Press’s Master Musician Series. He also serves as a visiting curator at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art overseeing their Museum + Music series.
